Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.

 

Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational School with a current enrolment of approximately 1400 students, including 120 boarders (7-12), of whom approximately 25 are international students.

 

As one of the eight original Grammar schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School was established in 1888 and has offered boarding since this time. The School has a long-standing reputation as the leading academic school in Northern Queensland, also offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 11 and 12.

 

Townsville Grammar School is seeking skilled and enthusiastic teachers of Design & Technology and Digital Technologies to join our team - commencing Term 2.

 

We are looking for educators who can create purposeful, well-structured learning experiences that build students’ technical skills, problem-solving ability, creativity and confidence. Whether your strength is in workshop-based design and production or in digital systems and technology rich learning, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a well-regarded school environment.

 

About the roles

 

These roles involve teaching Design & Technology and/or Digital Technologies across relevant year levels, depending on your qualifications, experience and specialist areas. We are interested in hearing from teachers who can deliver engaging, high-quality programs and who understand how to balance practical application with clear instruction and strong classroom routines.

 

In Design & Technology, this may include supporting students in the design process, safe and effective use of materials and tools, and the development of practical production skills. Our Design & Technology program encompasses:  Furnishing Skills,  Design, and Applied Technology.

 

In Digital Technologies, this may include helping students build computational thinking, digital problem-solving skills, and an understanding of how digital systems are designed, used and applied.

 

You will work within a collaborative Faculty and contribute to curriculum planning, student progress, and the continued development of quality teaching practice within the faculty.

 

About you

 

A relevant teaching qualification, QCT Registration, and previous teaching experience are highly desirable. Near graduates may be considered under a Permission to Teach arrangement.
